All are My Relations – Minnie Two Shoes | Teachings for our Times

“Black Elk said that we’re all standing in a circle—red, yellow, black, and white—and our path leads us to the center. Someday we can see each other. We can’t touch each other yet, but where those paths meet, that place is holy.

Realizing that when you say ‘Mitakuye Oyasin‘, all my relatives, you are not just talking about, “oh, my aunties, my cousin up in Phoenix.” It means all are my relatives. All are my relatives.”

  1. This Minnie Two Shoes business about All are my relatives is quite the circle, aint it? Red, yellow, black, and white, were all huddled in the center, probably arguing over whose turn it is to use the center couch. But hey, at least Black Elk gives us hope we might see each other someday, maybe after we figure out who gets the holy spot. AndMitakuye Oyasin indeed! Now if youll excuse me, I think my auntie from Phoenix needs a piece of this holy pie. On a serious note, though, the warrior women seem pretty impressive, fighting for the land and all. Keep up the good work, ladies!
